Mobility Solutions is the largest business segment of Bosch Group. In the year 2015 this segment achieved a turnover of EUR 44 billion, which presents 60 percent of the total Group turnover. Mobility Solutions segment unites the expertise of the Group in three domains of mobility - autonimity, efficiency and connections and offers its clients integrated mobility solutions. The main areas of activity are injection technology and powertrain peripherals for internal combustion engines, diverse solutions for powertrain electrifications, safety and driver assistance systems, technology for user friendly infotainment as well as vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, repair shop concepts and technology and services for automotive aftermarket. The Company was founded in the year 1886 in Stuttgart by Robert Bosch (1861-1942) as „Workshop for Precise Mechanics and Electronics". Thanks to its special ownership structure Robert Bosch GmbH, which provides entrepreneurial freedom the company is able to plan long-term and invest in important projects for the future. A total of 92% share in the company Robert Bosch GmbH is in the ownership of Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH foundation. The majority votes is held by the industrial trust Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG which performs all the entrepreneurial functions. The remaining business share is in the ownership of the Bosch family and the company Robert Bosch GmbH.
